Cooperation Board in Houston'

Members of the Indonesian Christian community in Houston have formed an agency
aimed at improving social and humanitarian functions of the Christians there,
Paul Wahyudin, the agency's chief, said.

The agency, called the Indonesian Christian Cooperation Board (BKKIH), was aimed
at increasing coordination and uniting Indonesians, and forming religious
people, in Houston in particular, and in the United States as a whole.

Paul Wahyuddin and Father John Taosan, and the board's  members,  met
Indonesian representative in Houston Al Busyra Basnur, last Saturday night to
discuss the establishment of the Board.

John Taosan said Indonesian Christians in Houston have done their duties, and
many social humanitarian assignments.

Al Busyra Basnur said the participation of Indonesians in a foreign country,
including Christians, are needed for the development of Indonesia.

Basnur praised the initiative of members of the Indonesian Christian community
to build such an agency in Houston.

The number of Indonesians  registered at the Indonesian Consulate General in
Houston has reached 16 thousand, many of them are Christians. Most of the
Christians have stayed quite long in the southern parts of the  United States
working in oil, gas, service and construction companies.

The working areas of CGRI Houston cover New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas,
Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Puerto Rico and
